Journeyman is an accounting and control system for companies offering short-term loans, revolving credit sales, hamper sales, video and TV rental, vouchers and other types of installment credit. The system is also appropriate for Credit Unions, and in fact can be used for any collections where there is a regular installment, often due weekly and normally collected by Agents on “rounds”.

Anchor has two similar but separate products for the Home Collected Credit market, namely Journeyman SQL* and Journeyman 4*.

Journeyman SQL uses Microsoft™ SQL Server as its underlying database and assumes relatively large numbers of customers who may be served either from a central office or via a network of offices. The system may be operated on a centralized basis with communication links from the remote offices, or the system may be installed in each of the offices, with a consolidated database being maintained centrally.

Journeyman 4 uses Microsoft™ Access and is intended for smaller concerns, operating from a single location.

Both systems are available either 'on-premises' or via our hosted service.

Walking Order

Accounts are created and maintained in “walking” or any other chosen order, with easily used procedures to re-organise rounds and to move accounts between rounds.

Account monitoring

The system closely monitors the Collectors’ cash receipts, and prints Cash Sheets which can be used on the rounds to record the next week’s payment.

Customers’ payment records are kept under constant scrutiny, with arrears letters and reports being generated automatically. A sophisticated Diary helps in the management of customer relations.

Palmtop Computers

Optionally, Journeyman can be used in association with palmtop computers: postings can be made by the Agent on the customer’s doorstep and downloaded into the main system by visiting the office or transmitting the data by modem.

Journeyman can be configured to provide the Collector with as much or as little functionality as is deemed appropriate. For instance, a Collector may be permitted to post receipts only, or he may be able to set up new customers and issue new loans and make sales.

Stock Control

For companies maintaining stocks of goods, Journeyman provides an inventory facility. Stock levels can be maintained for a central store, from which issues to subsidiary Collector stocks may be made. Sales made on the rounds are automatically priced and the Collector’s stock automatically updated.
